Slavery occurs when someone is held against
their will and forced to work without pay
and under threat of violence.
Although slavery is currently outlawed in
every nation it is estimated that more than
between 14 and 27 million men women and children
are caught in some form of slavery. Slavery
can also be referred to as human trafficking,
bonded labor, forced labor, or sex trafficking.
Slave labor is often used for prostitution,
domestic servitude, child soldiers, peddling,
sweatshops and other poorly regulated industries.
